Jacobs Medical Academy

Phlebotomy Technician

The Phlebotomy Technician Program at Jacobs Medical Academy is a 5-day accelerated training course offered in three scheduling formats: a Monday–Friday weekday option, a two-day weekday format (Monday & Thursday), or a weekend option (Saturday–Sunday). A phlebotomist is a healthcare professional trained to draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, and research, playing a vital role in patient care and medical diagnostics. Students in our program gain hands-on lab experience in every class while learning venipuncture, capillary collection, specimen handling, infection control, and patient communication. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam. Career opportunities for phlebotomists include hospitals, OB/GYN offices, primary care clinics, urgent care centers, diagnostic laboratories, community health centers, blood donation centers, long-term care facilities, and travel phlebotomy positions.
