Attendance, Tardiness, Absences, and No Call / No Show Policy

  • Attendance Requirement
Full attendance is mandatory for successful completion of the Phlebotomy Program. Students must sign in upon arrival and participate fully during class sessions.

  • Tardiness
Students are considered tardy if more than 15 minutes late to class.

    • Three (3) tardies equal one (1) absence.

    • Leaving class early without prior approval counts as an early departure, and three (3) early departures also equal one (1) absence.

  • Absences

    • A student is counted absent if more than one (1) hour late to class.

    • It’s the student’s responsibility to properly notify the school that they will not be in attendance at least 1 hour before the start of class, by email or by phone.

    • If a student misses one (1) day, they must pay an additional $100 non-refundable deposit and reschedule a make-up day in another class session.

    • If a student misses two (2) days, they are dismissed from the program and must reapply and start over from the beginning.

    • Only one (1) absence is allowed per course in order to graduate and be eligible for certification.

  • No Call / No Show

    • Failure to notify the school of an absence prior to class start time is considered a No Call / No Show. Because consistent attendance is critical for student success, Jacobs Medical Academy enforces the following policy:

  • First Offense:
    • Student will be dismissed from the program.

    • To be considered for readmission, the student must:

    • Submit a one-page essay within 7 days explaining why they believe they should be allowed to complete the program.

    • The essay must be submitted to the school email, and the school will make the final decision on whether the student may be re-enrolled.

    • The student will be notified of the decision by email.

    • If approved for readmission, the student must submit a $100 re-enrollment fee within 3 days of that decision in order to continue.

    • The student must also make up the missed day with another scheduled class session.

  • Second Offense:

    • Results in permanent dismissal from the program.

    • All tuition obligations remain in place.

    • No refunds will be issued.

    • If the student owes a balance to the school, they will not be eligible to re-enroll until the balance is paid in full.

    • Future enrollment will require applying directly with the school rather than enrolling online.

  • Financial Responsibility
All tuition and financial balances remain the student’s responsibility, regardless of dismissal status. No refunds will be issued. If a balance is owed, the student will not be eligible to re-enroll until it is paid in full. Per TFC Tuition, unpaid balances will be reported to the credit bureaus.

  • Students can not attend class if their tuition is past due-

  • Enforcement of Policy

This attendance policy is strictly enforced and will not be waived under any circumstances. Students are responsible for managing their schedules, communicating with the school, and ensuring they meet attendance requirements. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in dismissal and forfeiture of all fees paid.
