Medical Administrative Assistant
The Medical Administrative Assistant Program at Jacobs Medical Academy is a 80-hour, 13-week training program designed to prepare students for the essential front-office responsibilities that keep healthcare facilities running smoothly. Medical Administrative Assistants are often the first point of contact for patients and play a critical role in managing communication, scheduling, and recordkeeping. In this program, students will learn skills in appointment scheduling, electronic health records management, billing and insurance processing, and maintaining medical charts, while also gaining knowledge in medical terminology, healthcare laws and ethics, and professional office procedures. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Clinical Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam. Career opportunities include positions in physicians’ offices, specialty clinics, hospitals, outpatient centers, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare organizations that rely on skilled administrative support. The program is offered in a Hybrid format or fully Online option, giving students the flexibility to choose the path that best fits their schedule.
