Student Dismissal & Conduct Policy

Jacobs Medical Academy is dedicated to maintaining a respectful, professional, and safe learning environment for all students and staff. As future healthcare professionals, students are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, communication, and professionalism at all times.

 

Enrollment at Jacobs Medical Academy is a privilege, and the academy reserves the right to dismiss any student whose behavior or conduct violates our policies or disrupts the learning environment.

 

 

Grounds for Dismissal

 

A student may be dismissed from the program for any of the following reasons, including but not limited to:

    

Aggressive or Threatening Behavior:

    * Any verbal or physical threats toward staff, students, or others on school property.

    * Use of profanity, intimidation, or an aggressive tone or gestures.

    * Making statements or exhibiting behavior that suggests a loss of emotional control or possible intent to harm, such as implying difficulty controlling anger or frustration toward others.

    Argumentative or Disrespectful Conduct:

    * Speaking to instructors or peers in a confrontational or disrespectful manner.

    Refusal to follow instructions or disrupting classroom order.

    * Engaging in negative or hostile communication that creates an uncomfortable or unsafe environment.

    

No-Call / No-Show Violations:

  *  Failing to notify the school of an absence or repeatedly missing class without communication.

    Unprofessional Conduct:

 *   Any behavior that reflects poorly on the standards expected in healthcare, such as dishonesty, poor attitude, or unwillingness to cooperate with classmates or instructors.

  

 Disruption of the Learning Environment:

 *   Behavior that interferes with other students’ ability to learn or the instructor’s ability to teach.

    Refusal to participate in required activities or comply with academy policies.

 

 

Professional Expectations

 

In healthcare, professionalism, emotional control, and respect are essential. Students must demonstrate patience, maturity, and self-discipline at all times.

Displaying anger, aggression, hostility, or emotionally volatile behavior will result in immediate dismissal.

Such actions indicate that this may not be the profession best suited for the individual at this time.

 

 

Refund Policy for Dismissed Students

 

Students who are dismissed for misconduct, aggressive behavior, threats, or unprofessional actions will not be eligible for any refund of tuition, fees, or deposits under any circumstances.

Dismissal due to violation of this policy is considered a forfeiture of enrollment privilegesand is not subject to appeal for refund purposes.

 

 

Dismissal Procedure

    The instructor or program director may dismiss a student immediately if the student’s behavior compromises safety, order, or professionalism.

    A written report will be documented in the student’s file, and the student will be notified of their dismissal.

    Dismissed students may request a meeting with administration to discuss the decision; however, reinstatement is not guaranteed.

Every student is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on both themselves and the academy.
